What you can expect

Into the Red City on two wheels
Your guide meets you at our departure point near the edge of the Medina, where you are fitted with your e-bike and given a short briefing. The electric motor does the heavy lifting — the ride is comfortable even for casual cyclists — so you can focus on the city rather than the pedals.
From the first turn, you are inside the living Medina. Your guide leads you along quiet back lanes and residential derbs that most visitors never reach on foot, weaving past donkey carts, schoolchildren, and stacked crates of mint and coriander.
Koutoubia, Kasbah & the old quarters
You ride past the towering minaret of the Koutoubia Mosque — the city’s most recognisable silhouette — before entering the Kasbah quarter, where centuries-old walls frame views of palace gates and the Saadian Tombs entrance. The guide pauses to give context on the dynasties and daily rhythms of this royal neighbourhood.
From the Kasbah, you slip into the Mellah — the historic Jewish quarter — where the architecture shifts to carved wooden balconies and narrow covered passages. It is a quieter, less-visited part of the Medina with its own distinctive character.
Bread, tiles & neighbourhood life
Two short stops bring you into the texture of local daily life. First, a community bread oven — the ferran — where neighbourhood families bring their dough each morning to be baked in a shared wood-fired oven. You watch the process up close and taste warm bread straight from the oven.
Next, a traditional zellige workshop where artisans hand-cut and assemble the geometric mosaic tiles that decorate Morocco’s palaces and fountains. You see the process from raw clay to finished pattern, and your guide explains the geometry and symbolism behind the designs.
Olive groves and Atlas views at Menara
Leaving the Medina walls behind, you ride toward the Menara Gardens — a vast 12th-century olive grove with a reflecting pool and pavilion framed by the Atlas Mountains. The shift from dense city lanes to open green space is immediate and striking.
You park the bikes, walk through the gardens, and take in the view. On clear days, the snow line on the Atlas is visible beyond the olive canopy. This is one of Marrakech’s quietest landmarks and one of the most photogenic.
Gueliz, pastries & the ride home
The final stretch takes you into Gueliz — Marrakech’s French-built new town — where wide tree-lined avenues, art deco facades, and café terraces replace the Medina’s tight geometry. The contrast between old and new Marrakech is striking, and the e-bike makes covering both feel effortless.
You finish with a proper sit-down break at a local café: Moroccan pastries, fresh juice, and mint tea. It is a relaxed ending to a morning that covered both sides of the city, at a pace that felt more like exploring than touring.

Good to know
Everything you need to know for a smooth and enjoyable experience.
Do I need to be a strong cyclist to do this tour?
No. The e-bikes have electric pedal assist, which means the motor helps on every pedal stroke. The route is mostly flat, and the pace is relaxed — designed for sightseeing, not exercise. You do need to know how to ride a bicycle, but you do not need to be fit or experienced. Your guide adjusts the pace to the group.
Is it safe to cycle in Marrakech traffic?
Your guide leads the group and manages all road crossings and busy junctions. Inside the Medina, traffic is mostly pedestrians, donkeys, and scooters at low speeds. In Gueliz, you ride on wider roads with more space. The e-bikes are easy to handle, and the guide chooses quieter routes wherever possible. Most guests feel comfortable within the first few minutes.
What is the difference between Private, Small Group, and Group?
All three formats follow the same route and include the same stops. Private means your group rides alone with a dedicated guide. Small Group joins up to 8 guests with one guide. Group may include up to 15 guests with one or two guides. Private offers the most flexibility on pacing and photo stops; Group is the most affordable option.
What happens if it rains or is very hot?
In summer, morning departures start early to avoid peak heat. In the rare case of heavy rain, we may adjust the route or offer to reschedule. Light rain does not cancel the tour — Marrakech rain is usually brief. Your guide carries water and monitors conditions throughout.
Can children join this tour?
Children aged 12 and above who can ride a standard bicycle are welcome. We do not have child-sized e-bikes for younger riders. The route includes sections with city traffic, so children must be confident and comfortable cycling alongside a guide. For families with younger children, we recommend our walking tours instead.
What should I wear for the ride?
Wear comfortable clothes you can move in, and closed-toe shoes with grip. Avoid long skirts, loose scarves, or anything that could catch in the wheels. We recommend modest clothing when passing mosques and religious sites — shoulders and knees covered is appreciated. A hat and sunglasses help in sunny weather.
